Blog vs. Facebook

I decided to switch back to the original blog format for getting our maintenance news and information to the members.  I took a course in 2012 on social media for club communication and Facebook seemed like an obvious choice.  After a year, I found it good for quick updates but too impersonal and not as good for relaying details as I'd like.  A blog also has the advantage of easily getting to everyone who has an email address instead of just to those who had a Facebook account. Additionally, we had to email a text copy of the Facebook post to email-only folks.
More detail, better content, and more easily accessible made it an easy decision.

If this blog is new to you - welcome. Comments or questions are invited on anything happening with the course.  Much of what we do on the property is accomplished before people arrive for golf so we're often out of reach for comments.  Any questions on why we do what we do, or how we do it, I'm happy to answer.

Stay tuned for weekly updates through the year on the latest news from the Grounds Department. We'll have information on new projects, on-going project status, green speed and general conditions to name a few.  I'll also be doing "how-to's" regarding divot filling, cart use, and ballmark repair to arm the players with the best information on how to care for their course.  We'll also make announcements regarding cart use or range tee schedules when conditions warrant.
